I woke up expecting a little more bruising and swelling
today, and I was correct. The skin
around my eyes is so swollen and puffy I can actually see it. But on the
plus side, I still have not been in any pain! My congestion is much worse, nose
is nearly completely stuffed. I carefully brushed my teeth (as Dr. Jeomy
advised) and used one of those Kara facial wipes on my face. Overall, I'm feeling great, and still no
pain I hope everything continues this
smoothly!
Before breakfast, took a shower, which felt good, being very
careful not to get the nose cast wet. Mom helped me to wash off this gell from
hair. Still kinda slow and sloppy, keep dropping things and talking slow, but
feeling good. Dr. Senthil Kumar (A doctor from plastic surgery department) came
changed my dressings under the nose and cleaned that area. He asked me to try
to breathe through nose and went. I tried to take breathe in, its fine
now. With the packing gone, I can
breathe through my nose, but it feels weird so I don't. The hard thing about having the packing out
is that I still have the drainage going on, and my natural response is to
sniff, instead of just letting it drain out. My post-op instructions say
"no sniffing" so I'm trying to not do it, but it's automatic
sometimes. After a while nose got congested heavily so again I start taking
breathe through mouth.
Going to try to take a nap just wish i can sleep more than
15 minutes at a time. I’m not fully recovered from this anesthesia drowsy
effect . Feeling like to sleep, sleep and sleep but congested nose driving me
crazy, making me insane. While I’m sleeping, Dr. Jayakumar and his crew came and
he woke me up, asked about my my well beings, I complained about this congestion
then doctor said i can use the isotonic nose spray they gave me, but use it
very sparingly. I tried one spray in each nostril and it relieves congestion a
tiny bit, enough to not freak out.
I’m really hoping that tomorrow starts to get better. It's
the congestion that is driving me insane.
Today’s symptoms:
- Pain = none, once in a while very slight headache that's it.
- Congestion = Heavy, Driving me crazy.
- Bruising = Heavy.
- Swelling = on cheeks, eyes and nose.
